We came home today, it was a beautiful day in Cheshire, blinding sun.  By Buxton it was grey, and it didn't brighten up in South Yorkshire. Rain expected.

Quote from: Scrumpy on December 27, 2025, 05:44:04 PMToday I cooked a roast dinner.. Just for me..
What a waste of gas/electric..
Three small roast potatoes.. One Yorkshire pudding sitting all alone in an oven.. 😁 😁

I know what you mean Scrumpy,  I did just the same on Boxing Day..
Turkey, roasties, yorkie, roast parsnips . .  the lot.
Glad I made the effort though,  'cos it was scrummy.

Morning, It's a wee bit brighter today but only 2 deg. Just been to Tesco on my own this time, went very early before the rush starts then had my latte down at The Front watching the waves and listening to the sound of the ocean, it was nice I enjoyed it. Home now but still lights on, going to have a wee rest then head off for a walk. Determined to walk every day it was too easy to get out of the habit and my legs stiffen up.
Have a nice day all.

Sounds like you are doing well,  Raven.   Good on ya.   :upvote:

Its another cold, miserable grey day again here.
I was really naughty  this morning.  I got up,  made a cup of tea,  grabbed a biscuit and the Sunday paper,  and went back to bed to have my tea and a read.
Dogs all snuggled up round me,  and we all fell asleep again.   Bliss.

Lazy morning, drove to the supermarket, like Raven, I'm trying to get out each day. Washing all done from being away, OH made lunch, then I had a nap. I got an amaryllis as a gift, I need to get it planted.

Filled up the car with petrol.. Everyone else seemed to be doing the same..
Went for a walk..
Ordered new mattresses .. I have had mine for some years.. It was getting a bit lumpy and bumpy..
New mattress delivery tomorrow .. They are taking the old one away.. at a cost of 35 pounds..
The council would charge to take it away but they will only pick it up at your gate.. Impossible for me.. It doesn't fold or bend.. I couldn't even get it down the stairs...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I'm in the wars again and been in bed since I came back from my son's on Christmas Day.  I've got a throbbing pain under my right arm moving into my back.  Tried Gaviscon, then Ibuprofen then Co-codamol doesn't seem to be shifting it.  Good old hot water bottle is very comforting though.  Roll on spring !

I woke up with a dreadful attack of Vertigo 😪
Where did that come from?!
I can only think it's a bad reaction to the One-A-Night Kalms pill I took last night which is 385mg of Valerian.
I'm taking St John's Wort for anxiety,  maybe the two got their heads together and decided, "We'll show her!"

Ruthio,  be careful.   Sometimes people think just because they are herbal products, they must be safe because they are 'natural,'   but mixing them can still cause reactions in some of us,  especially if mixed with orthodox drugs too.

See below:

Interactions between your drugs   -  Moderate

St. John's wort  +  Valerian
Applies to: st. john's wort and Valerian Root (valerian)

Using St. John's wort together with Valerian may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating.
Some people, especially the elderly, may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination.
You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you

Blimey it a bit of me too time. Yesterday I thought I was in for a bit of the lurgy. Eyes sore slight temperature bit of that shivery feeling you get when s few days of unpleasantness is in prospect.

I took a couple of paracetamol and nodded off to sleep. Couldn't believe it when I woke up as instead of feeling proper poorly I wasn't bad at all. Few aches which I still have today to a degree and no temperature.

Shortest bout of lurgy ever for me. I pulled a tendon slightly walking a couple of days ago which still needs some rest. Looking forward to those odd something hurts but is better tomorrow with something different playing up.

I think I get mine just to remind me I'm still alive and that is always better than the alternative.

I hope all of you who've not been feeling great, Alex, Mups, klondike, are on the up.  Alex especially, that sounds rough.  Hope you have a better day today. 🤞🏼

Re Mups mention of dogs snuggling, I miss that when we come back from either of our kids'.  Add in a cat at our son's!
