Morning, Well it's good News, I passed the blood tests they were something to do with white blood cells and everything seems to be clear now. I've still to rest up a lot and let the body heal at it's own pace and not go and overdo things, he wants to see me just after New Year and then I should be able to start the pool again but slow pace no racing up n down the lanes.......me? as if.
It was a bit nervy up on Bonnie's back again but we had a walk round the field and a wee canter down the lane, went well and she seemed to be happy at being saddled up again even if it was only for a short time, soooo Weather permitting we're on for the beach run, meeting up with the others at 10.30am.

Good news Raven!  Take it steady and enjoy the beach run!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Michael Rolls

I'm glad you had good news from the medics Raven.

Enjoy your ride, but take it easy . . .  it would be a long way to fall from a Clyde's back!!

Oh No!    My strip light at the other end of the kitchen has packed up tonight!!
It's the end where the cooker is,  so I can hardly see the cooker or sink!

I have just phoned the electrician,  but its on answerphone.   I've got a horrible feeling he might have finished for Christmas.

Now what will I do???

Raven

Maybe a nice neighbor could nip up the ladder for you. Do you have a spare?
Other than that it's cook in daylight and torches for after dark.

Strip light?  You're a stripper?
Oh, sorry.  I misunderstood.

Good news for you Raven, bet you can't wait to get to the beach !

A friend called this afo so I offered her a glass of something, as you do.  She fancied a Port so I started to pour her a small glass and dropped the bloody bottle.     What a waste, all down me, the worktop and on the floor.  If I'd been on my own I'd have licked it off the worktop

Oh No.  Bet you said some choice words!

Has it stained your floor?

Naughty boy.

I could  empty a night club in record time if I was a stripper these days.

The flashing on and off, on and off, was driving me nuts, so I had to do something.
I turned the switch off at the fuse box just to feel safer,  then went up the steps and managed to get the bulb  out of the fitting.
That's all I can do as strip lights seem to have been replaced with LED's nowadays,  and I haven't got a spare.

I have heard back from my electrician but he can't come until next Monday now.  He is away at the mo,  and said his Suppliers are shut until next week anyway.
Oh well . .   I will just have to manage, won't I.

Might have to be,  Michael.

You could always buy a spare and brave the step ladder again. I expect the LED ones are designed to fit the old fittings just as the replacement LED bulbs are.

Be careful disposing of the old tube. They contain a small quantity of mercury which is poisonous and one of the reasons they were withdrawn from sale.

I wonder if B&Q  would have one?   I must admit its difficult with half my kitchen dark.
Mind you,  it'll be hell in town tomorrow I bet.  Hmm . .   :hmm:

Just had a look on B&Q website,  but it said  'Not available in store.'   And - 'Not available for click & Collect.'

However,  Screwfix have got some,  but I get confused between my Lumens, Watts, and Volts!
I may ring them in the morning and see if they are open.
