A couple of photos of the Christmas Tree Festival I visited in Chester Cathedral, it was lovely.  We only managed about 10 or 15 minutes of the organ recital though

What lovely Christmas pictures, Alex.   I especially love the second one.

Good morning all.   Cold, bright, but fog coming down.
I have got the chap over the road coming over shortly to see if he can prop my lazy neighbour's fence up that's laying against the roofing felt on my shed roof.
He has got what looks like 2 fence posts broken, and won't fix it.
I only had my shed re-felted last year, so I don't want his fence panels rubbing against it every time the wind blows.

Other than a quick trip to the Co-op,  I hope to have a peaceful day after a busy week.

I've just read that people have stolen all the wild Geese in a park in Wales.
It is thought they have all been taken for Christmas dinners.
I very much doubt they were even humanely killed.  Poor birds.

Pleased you're having company Mike, hope you get that fence sorted Mups, and lovely photos Alex.

I'm not religious, but I love a cathedral!  Durham is fab, and Coventry is surprisingly nice. Sheffield Cathedral has a good coffee shop!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I too love cathedrals and churches in general.  I went into the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool only a few years ago.  I've driven past so many times and never went inside but it is absolutely massive, in fact the largest in the UK and 5th largest in the world (*I looked that up  )  so if you're ever in Liverpool it's a must visit - as is the Catholic Cathedral, aka Paddy's Wigwam  :upvote:

The wreckers have left, son in law, granddaughter and boy friend arrived like scavenging seagulls to finish off the last of the packing...wifey and I hid away....they left, our home was stripped...so being the lovely chappie I am decided to make a bowl of soup for us...we had soup...no bowls...no soup mugs ...all packed away...somewhere in the mountain of boxes in the dining room...two coffee mugs were found which saved the day...the soup was crap! Sainsbury own brand.
Sunday they will arrive mob handed to 'do bits' whatever that, daughter has taken charge of this final bit and the move on Monday. Son in law doing stuff with plumbers and electrician in the garage conversion...my stress level has peaked out...I have no bloody intention of moving ever again except maybe in a casket.

You are right that is humongous..I went in there once many years ago with a lot more soldiers for the funeral of our Brigade Commander, who took his own life, kinda sad, nice guy, good leader.

Perhaps you could design and build your own coffin Vlad.  That way it'll be exactly as you like it.  Kinda like a small mdf/wicker/plywood/papier maché version of a pyramid, but not quite so big.

Well, it's something to do in one's spare time.

Always so helpful with interesting suggestions Dex. What would we all do without your input.

Well, if Richard Dreyfus can build a mountain in his lounge in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, then I'm sure Vlad can construct his own Druid coffin😉😬
