Quote from: GrannyMac on September 02, 2025, 06:08:42 AMI've had lots of problems with my teeth from being quite young, and I'm a nervous patient.  The last two extractions have been under deep sedation, which I paid for.   But that means having someone with you.   But you have no knowledge of it afterwards.

I saw the surgeon yesterday, after last week's pre-op.  Looks like I'll be having a new knee before long. 😬

Hope you don't have to wait too long GM  :upvote:

That may go for flats too i think as these are big houses but in a less than salubrious area and wouldn't imo at least make good family homes although there are schools within walking distance.
Be very careful what you write on here...
The government will be looking for suitable places to house immigrants..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

They wouldn't be converting it to flats if it was for them. Anyway this isn't a 4 area - they'd complain and want to go somewhere posher. Mind you yhe schools may make it more attractive to them from what I've read.

Come on girl don't let the side down.. Better to have a tooth out than a toothache..

I had a tooth out a couple of years ago.. The gap that was left felt so BIG.. but it all closed up..
I can still eat.. I don't look goofy when I smile..

GrannyMac... I hope you get knee replacement done soon.. I know of some who have had this operation and they are doing really well.. Good luck ..

Ah,  I had to smile when I read that.

Well its all done and over with now, thank God.    He took an X-Ray and said the tooth was fractured and would be better off out.
This upset me even more and I asked him if it was cracked,  would it be likely to fall to bits as he got the pliers over it - he said it might,  and if so, he would have to dig it out!
I was in tears by then.

He ended up giving me FOUR injections  before it was finally numbed,  as I could still feel everything otherwise.   Three of these hurt like hell too.  I didn't feel the last one though.

So all done now.   He showed me the tooth and showed me the cracks in it, which was interesting as I have never seen one of my own teeth before.    Have you?

I have now lost a total of 6 pounds in weight because I have hardly eaten,  and now I've got another few days before I can eat properly again too.
I shall have a body like an athlete this time next week.

How very dare you, Sir!

I will be light as a feather and super muscled,  and then you'll be sorry for doubting me.   :waiting:

*  Actually, I met Geoff Capes once.
A good few years back I used to breed Budgies.  I belonged to a bird club for like-minded people,  and Geoff Capes was our guest speaker one week,  as he was a 'bird man'  too.
His hands were like dinner plates, yet he was so gentle handling those little birds.    Lovely bloke.

Aren't the roots huge,   I was really surprised how long they were.

I was amazed when I saw this kind of picture showing how we are born with layers of teeth, which explains milk and baby teeth

Well done Mups, now if only there was a tablet we could take to overcome fear of spiders !

My dishwasher is pretty old. I noticed that in places the coating had come off the lower rack and rust was showing. I found a tin of silver Hammerite down the cellar and as that is supposed to be able to be painted directly onto rust I dobbed some on. Now I've noticed some things come out with a bit of silver paint on

I suppose it could be coming off from where I dobbed it on the coating. Hopefully it will stop eventually.

Alex

That's one thing I've never owned - a dishwasher, never felt the need for one really.

I'd imagine that the metal frame might expand with the heat of the water, creating fissures in the paint and that's what the failure is from.
