Now I've done my form they'll be after you..

I think the declarations are supposed to last 3 years but they start pestering  before that. They avoid solicitors letters about harassment by pretending they don't know who lives here. All addressed the occupier. If they checked the electoral roll for the last licensee here they would see it hasn't changed.

Don't bury it - dead grass is a real Lazarus and can resurrect. Try waving one of those holy smoky things over it. It won't help but it might give the neighbours a giggle.

De mortuis nil nisi bonum.
(I think it suggests that one should not have sex with the dead, though I may have mistaken the translation).
Numquam credere Gallicum

Don't give up on it just yet, Scrumpy.
I remember reading a while back,  that the roots are still alive quite a way under the soil,  its only the surface greenery that looks dead.
That's why when we water it, or it rains,  if it gets down to the roots it all comes green again.

Here,  just found this.   It explains it a bit better than I have:

While drought can cause the top growth to turn brown and die, in a well-established lawn the underlying roots should still be alive, ready to send up fresh leaves once rain returns. So resist the temptation to water your parched lawn – it will recover without wasting precious mains water.

Mups... My grass started dying way back last year.. It all started when I used a very strong weed killer on it..  It had loads of bald patches.. I have used grass seed.. I have given it a feed... Nothing happening..

Warm again today... very warm...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Ah in that case start with....

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

Then the choices are...

Block paving
Turf
Glasses dark enough not to see it

The third is the cheapest.

I don't want to seem gloomy,  but I had a sad day yesterday.
Another friend died, and it was her funeral yesterday.  She was the lady who did the Fox rescue.  There were loads of people there as she had many connections  in the animal world.  Even my lovely old retired Vet came along.
I shall really miss her.

On a lighter note,  it's cooler today,  :upvote:   -  although they are forecasting over 30 degs again at the weekend,  not looking forward to that.

My Ocado order has just arrived,  so best go and pack that away.
Have a good day everyone.

Sad days when we lose a friend... My heart goes out to you Mups..

It keeps threatening rain.. but nothing happens..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Alex

Sorry to hear your news Mups, it's sad when we lose friends.

Today was sunny here but a bit windy.  After two cancellations I finally got my hair cut this afternoon, I was fed up of the Boris Johnson look.

Thanks for your kind words, Alex & Scrumps.  x
