Pets at Home was also affected.  Lucky no animals or people were hurt.  But the loss of business will affect all the retail park.

There are some evil people (and some mindless idiots) around, I wonder who 'the arrested' are?
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Word on the street is that they were teenagers which explains why no names were released as I think they have been charged.

I wonder why teenagers usually get off more lightly than adults?
If 3 teenages set fire to the premises and maybe even killed someone,  why should the punishment be different to 3 adults doing exactly the same crime?

They are so bloody stupid.. Few brain cells between them..
Don't they realise that burning down business premises is killing off the (high street) shopping..
Something that their parents/grandparents might rely on..
And work for some who might find it hard to obtain elsewhere..

I hope their parents are ashamed of them...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Think back to the doubtless stupid things you may have done back in the day. Teenagers are awash with hormones that can  make them stupid. Setting fire to somewhere really is stupid but I doubt it occurred to any of them that it would amount to more than a bit of smoke setting off the alarms. These of course could equally be evil little sods. There will be psych reports and their punishment is going to depend on those. I doubt it will be lenient though as the cost of their stupidity will run to millions. Job losses too I reckon for sure. I know somebody who's son works there so I will hear about that for sure. He wasn't working the Saturday though.

I think the most stupid thing I have done is running (with others) across the road from one pub to another.
I was knocked down by a car, fortunately without injury as he stopped quickly.  I suppose that in my drunken state I was pretty loose and limp and easily absorbed the impact.
Of course, that would have been about fifty years ago now, and I am no longer able to absorb such things.

Actually Klondike,  perhaps because my Father was strict,  I never dared to anything dangerous or that might hurt or endanger others. -  hormonal or not.  We had to respect adults.
About the naughtiest thing I can remember doing was going scrumping, or knocking at doors then running away.    I honestly don't recall one single person who would have set fire to a department store.  Do you?

It  said on the lunchtime news just now, that they were 13, 14, and 15yrs old.
The 13yr old has been released without charge.  The other two have also been released on bail.
Maybe their stupidity was a one-off,  or maybe it wasn't.  But why were they carrying anything to start a fire with in the first place?    Anything pre-planned is (in my mind) quite different to on the spur of the moment stupidity.   Also, perhaps if the parents had to pay a huge amount towards any compensation,  maybe they would keep an eye on their kids a bit more.

Many perhaps won't agree,  but I also think with evil, deranged adults,  they don't just wake up one day and find they have grown horns overnight.  I would say most nasty adults would have shown some sort of tendencies beforehand, even since childhood.    Whether it be cruelty to pets,  nasty to old people or invalids,  or bullying smaller kids - or  anybody else they know who can't turn round and flatten them.  But most likely,  its  often only their parents or teachers who see these early signs, until it progresses.
That's how I feel anyway.

I believe that some people are born with the (cruel) streak.. perversion..  etc. And continue through life putting them to use..
I don't think it is something we develop as we go through life..

As a kid I put my hand in a box that was on the counter at our local Tuck Shop.. It contained tuppenny masters..
They were cigarettes that were sold separately..
I stole two.. Heaven knows why..I was only eight.. I guess I was showing off in front of our local (gang)..
I have never forgotten that..
Like Mups , we only went scrumping and played 'knockout ginger'..

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Isn't it funny the things you remember?  No idea how old I was but I was in the butcher's shop with my Mum and found 2/6d on the floor in the sawdust.  My Mum made me give it to the butcher.

I recall discussing one lottle sod with somebody in the past. They said Well he won't stay a difficult child forever - he'll grow up to be a bloody impossible adult.

Off out later for a coffee..

To be honest I can't be bothered with going out... Not interested about doing much at the moment..
Everything seems to be an effort..
  Is it just me.. ?

I'm sure that is very true.
My experience, when as a teacher, is that having seen a child's parents, I can well understand the reason for their child's bad behaviour.
Some are far too lenient and accepting; others are noticeably antisocial.
It stands to perfect reason that children take after their parents.
