Are private bin men cheaper than public ones?
Dont be picky... I suspect they are more expensive  but The Socialist Peoples Republic of Free Birmingham need to waste some more of my money

It's what we have all come to expect

If the place was infected with vermin and the crap in the bins spread everywhere by foxes and feral cats and dogs it would be costing them more in the long term than private bin men. Even doing nothing would have an unacceptable cost that would be imposed when the next election finally comes.

I suppose that if the bin men are on strike (again) they won't be being paid, so the money saved can (partly) pay for private bin men.  I bet the striking bin men are pretty annoyed that others are standing in for them.

Another lovely day here too.
I'm easily pleased these days with a line full of washing giving me a fuzzy glow

Vlad

I had a fuzzy glow once, it turned out to be a nasty rash

I trust that the clinic fixed that for you.

Good afternoon good people.
One of the few glorious warm sunshiny days we have left according to the weather man.

Been to the Doc's about my painful hip/leg,  and he is going to try a steroid injection.  Only thing is, he can't do it until mid-May!!   So looks like I am going to have to hobble about for another month yet.

My 16 year old cat hasn't drunk nor eaten anything for nearly two days.  He wants to, but there's obviously something stopping him.

Vets later.  Am very worried.  If he needs an anaesthetic, I fear that he might not wake up from it given his age and slender figure.

Oh gawd Dex, I know exactly what you mean.  :hugs:

Thanks.  He seems happy in himself, purring and resting.  Touch wood, eh?

Here he is, having a nap on me in our porch (there's a pleasant cool breeze) as I type.

Hoorah.  He has an infection and has now got meds.  Am supposed to keep him indoors for a week, which will go well as he's been free to come and go all of his life.

Just nipping to Asda to get a litter tray and litter.

While there, I'm going to also buy plasters, savlon, suture, chain mail gloves etc and book myself into the gp for a tetanus.  The reason being...I have to give the cat two tablets of antibiotics (amongst other stuff) twice a day for 7 days.🫣

Light a candle for me and say a few prayers.

Yes indeed, and thank you for your concern. My mind is exceptionally quiet today. I am suspicious I'm up to something I don't want me to know about.

Raven

Sooo glad it's going to be ok. If your meds are capsules then open them and pour the stuff into a piece of cheese or chicken, whatever the cat loves and it should be gobbled up, do it when the cat is hungry before a meal.
