Have spent the last couple of days trying to find the owner of a kitten who was found alive and well (and a real friendly cutie) in the engine bay of a neighbour's car engine bay.  They asked us to sort it out as they knew we have cats.

My two grown cats were scared stiff of the kitten, complete pair of pussies to be honest, running out of the house at the mere sight of her and looking over their shoulders whenever they nipped in for a bite to eat.

Anyway, after posting and scrolling on several social media sites to no avail , and having borrowed a scanner to discover a lack of chip, and having sourced a foster carer for her, and having spent time washing my bedding and wet vaxxing sections of our carpets, out of the blue we found a friend of a friend who were looking for a kitten.

They are lovely people, and the kitten now has a caring, permanent home.

I cried all the way home when I handed the little cutie over to the new owner.

When I got back, my two older cats were clearly somewhat relieved and have tried to act all hard, 'cos they is men goddammit!!

Hoorah.  I ordered a plastic sheet/tarpaulin from them.  The other stuff came at the usual speed, but this item seems to be sent by donkey overland.  Still on a cart, somewhere in Europe😬🙄

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

An heroic effort.

I had a stray arrive in my kitchen one day. It showed no sign of wanting to go. I bought some cat food and printed out a sign to tie to the gate. Before I'd even fixed up the sign it had sniffed at the food and promptly cleared off. I discovered that it had deserted to a house a couple of doors away. I expect they bought better cat food.

Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Thank you.

Now, back to the second little curveball chez Dex.

MiL has suddenly become quite unwell and Mrs Dex has had to spend the last few days staying with her, to attend to her need as well as the paramedics and doctor who have had to attend over the last few days.  All in all, and indeed MiL has come to the same conclusion, it would be best all round if she dozed off ....

Although she's bounced back before, this time isn't looking quite so likely.  But who knows?
