Continuing my car window squirters saga,   I went to Halfords while I was in town today to see if they could do something with the water jets.
Briefly,  the answer was No!
I can't ignore it because should it start raining when I am  driving,  and the car/lorry in front of me sprays mud up my window,   it would be dangerous as I wouldn't be able to see where I was going.

I told him I poked with a pin a few weeks back and it seemed to improve,  but this week it has now packed up completely,  except for the rear window,  that works.
He gave it a quick poke with a pin,  but wouldn't probe any further because he said the trouble with sticking something into the holes is that it can push whatever is blocking the jets back into the water again.
He said it was a 'garage job'  really, as they may need to take all the piping off.

Have booked it into Orbit tyres for tomorrow morning.

Crikey Mups, what a palaver.  I'm sure the relevant nozzles are very cheap and quick to change.  Which shouldn't make it a particularly expensive job, hopefully.

Worse case is they try to fleece you for a new pump, which may (or may not) actually be necessary.

Touch wood, it's the spray heads coupled with a basic flush out of crud.

In any case, I'm surprised it passed the MOT recently since I'm fairly sure it's something they test, along with whether the wiper blades are good enough.

May have been working then of course. I'm guessing it must be a blockage or the Halfords bloke would have just re-aimed them and crud can appear quickly.

On reflection though if it was muck it would be more likely to be just one unless there was a load got in somehow. More likely earlier in the pipework.

Morning all.
I had the car into Orbit's by 8.10 am.  A nice young lad brought me back home, and now I've fed the dogs and finally had my breakfast.

Whatever it is we shall soon find out,  I just hope its not too expensive as I've paid out more than enough recently, and I've still got my son's Christmas present to buy yet.

Yes, you are right Dex,  it should have been checked on the MOT.  Trouble is,  it seemed work OK some times and not others,  so maybe it was not too bad then and they let it pass,  dunno.
