So glad the op  went well, and you're home again, Vlad.   Well done.

Now you will be able to find your wallet and take us all for a celebration pint.

I must add that I admire your modesty, Vlad.

Quote from: Alex on June 05, 2025, 09:11:23 AMI went to Stockport yesterday on the train as I no longer trust my old jalopy to do motorways.  Anyway a friend is a nervous traveller, particularly when it comes to changing trains, she was certain she would end up on the Orient Express when having to change trains in Stockport to travel south

The staff at Stockport station were so helpful and let me through to the platform she was leaving from, so I could put her on the right train 🚂  ! She sent a text last night to say when she arrived her daughter was waiting for her. Mission accomplished !

I like Stockport station, I know it well.  It's where I change from the usually crowded Manchester train onto the much more civilised local train to Holmes Chapel or Congleton.

As I said, I had a GA before having a cataract op. Didn't feel a thing. 😉

Good news that you're in complete working order Sir Vlad!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I missed Good Morning,  so its Good Afternoon now.

Its grey, windy, cool,  and with the odd shower here.
I had such a rotten night trying to get comfortable with this back ache, that when I did nod off, I overslept this morning.    I hope I get the MRI results soon.
Anyway,  enough moaning.

Gertie kept growling at something outside the back door this morning. That is not like her at all,  so I went to see what was upsetting her, and found her staring at a tiny baby fledging Wren. Dear little soul it was,  and thankfully she hadn't hurt it at all,  I think she was just bewildered why her 'new toy' could move all on its own!

Anyway,  it can't fly yet,  so I built a quick pen for it down on the lawn,  less than a foot high and with no roof, so I just hope its Mummy comes and takes it to safety soon, as I really don't want it to die.

Flannelette knickers are cheaper. I wonder if the fake women are such wimps of if they "man up".

No I'm not that sensitive to the cold or the heat come to that. I think it's well known that women in general prefer higher temperatures indoors than men.

If I'm cold I put warmer clothes on before turning the heating on then if I'm still cold on goes the heating. I'm happy with 19 to 20 in winter but oddly seem to be ok with a bit less in summer - no idea why that is.

Phil - Diasi - is more of an Eskimo than that though as he reckons 16 indoors is the Bahamas.

It's sunny but cloudy here, and quite blowy still.

I have just had some beans on toast with grated cheese for a late brekkie.  Riveting information ey?
