Quote from: dextrous63 on February 20, 2025, 09:28:34 AMAs I was just thinking, there are different bore sizes in different water pipes.  The old 1/2" copper pipe is different to the modern 15mm pipe, as anyone who has ever tried to join these two sizes together will attest to...
Yes indeed the perils of mixing measurement systems. It's the same with brickwork. If you want to match up with the old imperial 3 inch bricks you can still get them but they are more expensive. I chose to pay the extra for a rear extension to avoid it looking an eyesore but had the entire old decrepit garden wall replaced with the new sized ones.

NASA managed to crash a Mars lander through a mix up in units too.

What the hell appened to the weather? Double figure temperatures. Only just noticed.

I thought it was my CH repair keeping me so warm. I think I mentioned that the other day didn't I?

Quote from: Mups on February 19, 2025, 09:59:59 PMYou are quite right, Ruthio.
It  makes us delicate damsels so embarrassed doesn't it.

In fact I have needed my smelling salts twice!
I apologise for my crass comments but I was unsupervised at the time of posting Mrs Vlad had gone out with daughter

I already do that !  at least everyone can understand Mups' damp patch and Scrumpy's trips to the Co-op.  You boys need a technical shed for your cylinder 'bore' stuff.  [2010]

Perhaps bypassing posts you don't understand is the way forward? Still posting complaints about things that bore you in the boring thread is on topic I suppose as it is indeed boring.

That's me told then  !

Good morning good people.
It's miserable, wet and windy here,  so I don't fancy going out today.
My Ocado order has just arrived,  so best go and start unpacking it all.
Is that too exciting for the boring thread?

Morning, It's a filthy day here, not long left the pool and drove round to the front to drink my Latte, Had to go the long way round today thanks to roadworks, traffic lights and hold ups. But I need my daily dose of the ocean.
This is better on full screen, sorry it's a bit wobbly but the roads are not great to drive on.

That view was worth the journey !  must be nice to be so close to the sea. :upvote:

Mups I love it here, the air is clean, way of life is slower, not really busy unless it's tourist season then it's gets hellish at times and overrun with camper vans. Luckily for me I knew places I could go with Dageus that tourists (or very few) didn't know about. One such place is Strathy Bay but I've not been back since Dageus passed. I'll stick some photos of it up for you shortly.
Again this is best on full screen.

Morning, Just back from The Front after my swim, it's really wild here this morning and the ocean is very rough. Need to go over to Wick but think I'll leave it for a while and see if that wind calms down. It's lashing with rain too, not really a day for being out.
