No 'Trick or Treats' in this area last night..
No eggs thrown at the houses..
Times are hard..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Same here.   Nice and quiet.
I really don't like door knocking after dark anyway.

Next, we've got a huge public firework display a few hundred yards away, on Saturday.

Being traditionally tight-fisted Yorkshire people, Marge and I turned off our outside lights yesterday evening to deter 'trick or treaters'.
The first thing that happened was a ring on the doorbell.  We both ignored it, but then realised that it was the Ocado man arriving early.  Luckily, he was still there when we went to the door.
Later on, the doorbell went again.  We ignored it again but had a little look on the security cameras and saw that it was a couple of lads, not children, and just kept an eye on them before they both departed: one down the steps, the other over the wall.
All quiet after that.
However, when I got up for an early pee this morning, I noticed that I'd forgotten to turn the lights back on again.

Been in the garden.. swept up hundreds of leaves.. many more on trees..
Tidied up three pots... I only have three..
Tomorrow I will scrub decking..
I am not going for a walk today.. can't be bothered..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

On my walk I saw a council man pointlessly blowing leaves around in the field beside the roadway leading to Delapre Abbey. He'd already blown a pile of them over the footpath on the other side. I expect he'll go back blowing them off again sometime. Maybe tomorrow.

Had my flu and Covid jabs, and did a litter pick on my way back.  I hate finding these charger things on the pavement as they're heavy!!

Picked up 3 of the darned things over the half mile or so walk back from the pharmacy.

GrannyMac

Walked to the pharmacy, then through the park to the library.  Loads of geese round the lake.  Then I walked to the charity shop, they are really short staffed.  Its not one of my days, but I worked for an hour, then caught the bus home for lunch of homemade soup, made by my OH.  Off out again shortly to have my nails done.

I love being retired.

At least one big cylinder replaces hundreds of the little silver ones Dex.

This is true Klondy.  And it's easier to pick up a few surrounding balloons.

On a related subject, I'll be glad when single use vapes are outlawed (it's a Labour pledge, so we can count that as good as done🙄), since these are fairly frequent finds on my travels, as indeed are single use tooth flossing sticks.

klondike

Making NO₂ use illegal doesn't seem to have helped you much. I imagine single use vapes will be as common as smuggled cigarettes. At least we now have a government well versed in how to smash the gangs

dextrous63

The gangs?  By which you mean gangs of elderly pensioners writing about their displeasure on Facebook.
