Nectar and Argos

I was in the process of associating my Nectar card with my eBay account as I rarely shop with Argos now and if you pay with Nectar and need to return in store you get an Argos voucher.

Anyway while looking at the Nectar account and buying a voucher to spend on eBay I noticed an odd deduction of 8144 points by Argos. As I didn't recognise it and had recently had a fairly large points refund from Argos as I had to return something I'd paid for online I suspected fraud.

It turns out that I'd bought something on 7 May and had been massively over credited with Nectar points and it was an adjustment.

The thing is I'd used those points to buy the thing I returned. If I hadn't returned it I'd have been quids in. Bugger. I should have realised as to get 8,000 points I'd have had to spend £8,000 and I doubt I've done that in total from Argos in the last decade.

They've fixed it now so not worth checking your own points really.
