For Maisie was only 4ft 3
And Baz was easily the size of a tree
So they had to settle for just a peck.


In the end he found her a box
Took his shoes off and stood in his socks
He had painted the box white
And now they were the same height
As she stood there with her long golden locks.

Bath time at the care home wasn't fun
Bert had to bend over for them wash his bum
Then into the bath chair 
To be hoisted in the air
And scrubbed in the water till numb.


The carers would come with a big towel
While Bert greeted them with a big scowl
