Of course these days so much seems odd
£3 no longer buys chips and some Cod
Everything's gone up -
Including the beer you sup
Not like the days of Rockers and Mods.

Last night when I was lying in bed
Thoughts of childhood went through my head
Life was simple back in the day

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Thoughts of childhood went through my head
Life was simple back in the day
Very soon now you'd look for a sleigh

Last night when I was lying in bed
Thoughts of childhood went through my head
Life was simple back in the day
Very soon now you'd look for a sleigh
We believed in Santa, in his suit of red.

Then we grew up, and had some fun
Settled down, a family had begun
Little ones who again believed
And hung their stockings on Christmas Eve
Then got up excited, to wake dad and mum.

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

We had an orange and an apple too
We saw Santa in the sky he flew
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

We had an orange and an apple too
We saw Santa in the sky he flew
We'd leave him a tipple and a mince pie,
That always went in the blink of an eye

We saw Santa in the sky he flew
We'd leave him a tipple and a mince pie,
That always went in the blink of an eye
Downed by dad, but we never knew.  💖

The shops are full of Christmas tat
Flashing lights and Santa hats

The shops are full of Christmas tat
Flashing lights and Santa hats
A snowman that say's 'Press me here'
And coloured bottles full of cheer
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

The shops are full of Christmas tat
Flashing lights and Santa hats
A snowman that say's 'Press me here'
And coloured bottles full of cheer
And Reindeer, which I like to pat.

I went to the Tip today
Loads of cars in my way

I went to the Tip today
Loads of cars in my way
