Shamima Begum case could be decided in ECHR as lawyer slams UK

EXCLUSIVE: A human rights lawyer claims that Ms Begum was groomed into her life with ISIS and that the British Government has a responsibility to bring her back.

Shamima Begum's legal case could go all the way to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) if the Government fails to "fulfil its responsibility", according to a human rights lawyer. Since Ms Begum was stripped of her citizenship in 2019, her lawyers have been battling in courts to get the 23-year-old's case judged in the UK. She lost her citizenship after travelling to northern Syria in 2015 to join ISIS at the age of 15, where she is now stateless and stuck in a camp, run by the Syrian Democratic Forces, which she described as "worse than a prison".

Even if she did eventually win the right to return to the UK, I don't think she would be safe, too many people looking to get their hands on her.

Plus I imagine she would be facing criminal charges here should she return.

I'll go with Michael's comment  :upvote:

Because of the word return, no charges would ever be possible due to a lack of meaningful evidence. Hence the Camden Town 'everyone's a racist' firm of Sue Grabbit and Run, applying to Strasbourg. She'll be back by Xmas and raking in fortunes on TV appearances etc.

Shamima Begum will not be able to return to UK as she loses court appeal

The 23-year-old, who left Britain as a teenager to join the so-called Islamic State (IS) in February 2015, found out today whether she has won an appeal against the decision to remove her British citizenship.

Shamima Begum has lost an appeal against the decision to remove her British citizenship. Ms Begum was 15 when she and two other east London schoolgirls travelled to Syria to join the so-called Islamic State (IS) in February 2015. Her British citizenship was revoked on national security grounds by then-home secretary Sajid Javid shortly after she was found, nine months pregnant, in a Syrian refugee camp in February 2019.

If she does try the ECHR and they overturn that it could provoke so much of a stink that maybe we would pull out rather that try legislative condoms.

As I've commented elsewhere, this is a dead certainty for an overthrow by Strasbourg. Most compliant with 'Greaser' Sunak's plans for this as the 'warm-up' act for the eventual referral of the N.I. question. Here it will be ruled that the 'Human Rights' of the good people of the land that Boris sold out, are obviously better served by the ECJ as final resort, rather than our own Courts with a UK Charter.

Sunak will again pull the 'not my fault gov' card, Mr EU Starmer will rubber stamp it with all his little apparatchik dishcloths as another step nearer to rejoining the circus of Brussels upon his imminent election as PM.

The whole betrayal will get through Parliament post hocta proc. From there it will whistle past the Greens & Liberal dumbocrat majority in the second chamber and within a year N.I. will be part of the EU and at the mercy of the neighbouring republic!

Allez oop!

Goodness me, there'll be a lot of trouble if N.I. is left to the EU

Sunak just doesn't get that, also he's a Globalist formed from the WEF just like his new pal, a fellow ex citizen of Lilliput, Macron who similarly has no appreciation of history!

If she sees that she'll try it....

I reckon she's too arrogant to even consider anything less than first class. She's expecting and rightfully so, to get here via the EHCR. Sponsored by a muslim airline and set to make a fortune with her own chat show on Channel 4 and then columns in the Guardian and The Observer.

No meaningful evidence will ever be assembled here for prosecution as it's an impossibility. She'll then transpose to 'Dancing on Ice', 'Get me out of here' and other soporific watched gunk, where she'll lick severed heads whilst knitting suicide vests.
