Apparently there is a remote chance of developing listeria from eating uncooked smoked salmon, but it is OK if cooked. One of my favourite sandwiches is smoked salmon in brown bread and butter, so perhaps I should refrain  over 65s are an at risk category. I also have it - cooked in pasta carbonara, another favourite, which should be OK

It will be a health benefit that prevents cancer next week. They have to fill the papers with something.

Smoking is a form of cooking and listeria is not serious in healthy people. You pays your money, you takes your choice. If in doubt cook it just as you might chicken.

I only like tinned salmon !  the other stuff is okaaaay I suppose and I've cooked it in foil with lemon & herbs.  But smoked salmon is a no no for me.  Is tinned salmon a bit too working class these days ?

Ashy

Tinned fish is exquisite. Ask any cat.
