Had to rearrange some face to face lessons to being online ones yesterday as I've got the lurgies.  Will have to do the same today.  Apart from my own feeling of general malaise, it's unfair to risk them from catching anything from me.

Suppose I'd better take a Covid test as the dry achy sore throat symptoms are on the list, and hope that it is just a dry achy cold.

Have a good day, each and every one of you.

Sounds possible. It takes 2 to 3 days from the sore throat/cough to a test showing as positive IME. Apparently your peak infectivity comes befofe the symptoms which makes complete evolutionary sense but seems counter intuitive. Hope it turns out to be mild if it is covid.

Thanks Klondy.  Hopefully over the worse now?  How long did you feel a bit off?

klondike

Both mine were mild and the symptoms passed in less than a week. Cough eventually made chest hurt a bit both times. I noted my timeline the first time and added the second. They originally imposed 10 day isolation post test but seem to have reduced the recommendation to 5 now. There is no longer any statutory requirement to isolate.

Ta.  Will wait until tomorrow to see if it is just a mild cold before taking FTs.

Fingers crossed

Only reason I tested was because I'd arranged to meet somebody. I still had some covid era tests that were abour 6 months out of date so got new from Amazon to confirm. Cheapest they had. They only have a few months life but I still used up the old free ones which still seemed to be working OK.

I never had a temperature more than maybe 0.5C over my norm (which is actually lower than average at 36.9) the second time. Don't remember if I did the first.

I have 24 lavender plug plants, 3 tomato plants  to pot on and 24 aquilegia to put into borders. Grandkids have decided to sleep over tonight so fresh bedding to be put in the spare bedrooms...fridge needs restocking with beer.

So, having decided that I ought to invest £8 for 5 tests yesterday (ie asking Mrs Dex to add them to the shopping list), I did indeed test positive for Covid last night, and again this morning...I was hoping for a rare false outcome.

Which means that my face to face lessons have now been shifted online .. no big deal.  Maths GCSE and iGCSE paper 2 is on Monday morning, so I'm a busy and popular chap for a change.

Think I might try to find some pro Hamas demonstrators later and give them a hug and a kiss, and even a well timed sneeze in their direction to emphasise my support😬

Enjoy your day.

Hope you get off as lightly as I did. Not pleasant but far from dire. Be interesting to know if Mrs Dex gets it too. If so may she be blessed with a mild dose. Any idea where you caught it using my timeline as a rough guide.

Oh dear,   I hope you feel better soon, Dex.

Best not go round snogging all the ladies just yet.  :embarrassed:

dextrous63

Thanks for the kind thoughts.  Currently barely any symptoms left and seem to be improving.  Absolutely no idea where I got it from,...I've been to so many different places that there's no way I can nail it down.

Mrs Dex tested negative, which is just as well as she has to visit her 91 year old mother most days, especially since I can't for a bit for obvious reasons.

Alex

Hope you feel better soon Dex that bonking mad ex-squaddie will be needing you, but I've forgotten what for

Thanks muddy.  Am feeling about 90+% healthy.  Which is strange, since pre-Covid my MO was about 40% 🤣🤣🤣

No empties yet Dex, in fact the Dead Mans Fingers is still unopened - it sounds strong stuff to me
