It's sad that he didn't take the hint when over 40% of his MPs voted no confidence in him as leader. Thatcher had the good grace to go early and so should he have.

The way he has carried on people will be thinking their politicians are liars.

One thing for sure is that most of us will have no say in the matter. The choice will determine the next election for sure although that may already be lost for them.

I just hope a REMAINER doesn't take over..

Que sera sera. Our political leaders appear to be completely incapable of capitalising on Brexit anyway.

Steve Baker MP who I really haven't heard much of, had a big say in Brexit and getting red wall seats. Getting some one like him could make a big different.

Boris hoping to stay in place until a new one is found I cannot see that being allowed. My heading not right, should read Boris Resigning

I see it wouldn't let you. I merged the threads instead under Hugh's title. I see as your post was first the forum gave you the honours as thread starter. Seems equitable to me.

According to the BBC News site he is resigning as leader but not as PM. Huh? Apparently he wishes to stay as PM until the autumn and is busy appointing ministers to replace those who have resigned. Who on earth would want to work with him?

Boris Johnson's reign ends in disgrace, just like his friend Donald Trump. The end of an era of transatlantic populism? Let's hope so.

EU - UK relations suffered hugely with Johnson's choice of Brexit. Things can only get better! 🇪🇺🇬🇧 "

wishful thinking - unless some wretched Remainer succeeds  BJ

Well, at least they will  know how to throw a LEAVERS party..🥳 🎉
They have had enough practice..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Well Mike its pretty much what the remainers want to replace Boris. Some one on GBNews summed up my feelings on the subject, the remainers found partygate to under mine him, and carried on till they removed him.

Yes, I think I'd vote for him but realistically I can't see him making it through to the members' vote.

It'll be rigged so that we get a choice between two Remainers, or at the very  least, two who aren't ex-members of the ERG.

My guess is that the members will have to vote for either Wallace or Hunt.

That's like having the choice of either shitting yourself or pissing yourself, neither being what you want.
