They'll issue new ones but won't withdraw the old. I remember prior Kings heads on pre decimal currency. I doubt that Royal Mail will withdraw stocks of stamps and with the new 1st class 2nd class markings there will be some of those hanging around in draws for donkey's years to come.

Don't let anyone kid you it means we are going cashless.

However all the policemen will have to have new helmets, many of our soldiers will have to have new badges and so on. It all makes work for the working man to do.

The police only need to wear helmets on the street and could draw them out as they go out and put them back as they return. I reckon this town probably only needs half a dozen.

Do they go out on the streets now?  Well, I've never seen one for years now though there is the occasional cop car, sometimes even with blue lights (probably on their way back for a break).

Blast I forgot to mention the style...

I've just learned that tonight's Emmerdale & Coronation Street have been cancelled.

I do realise that Lizzie's death is newsworthy but surely it could be limited to say 20 hours out of the 24 in a day.

I also realise that to some people it's unimportant but it's not when you're sat on your own all day & it's something to which you look forward.

Maybe only the metropolitan police that need new helmets then. maybe only new badges if they are separate.

Yes, I assume unless it has the E II R letters, which I assume would need to be changed to C III R, there would be no need for any change.
The only other thing which could change is the 'Queen's Crown' (as in the above picture) into the 'King's Crown', but that may not be considered necessary.

Coronation Street has turned into a lefty brain washing exercise ! we've got Diabetes with young Summer showing what happens when you miss the insulin jabs.  The menopause is tackled with Faye going through an early one and refusing HRT.  Not forgetting the problem of impotence with Sally and Tim 's bedroom antics !  Now it's a young footballer collapsing, no doubt due to his Covid jabs....
Ekin-Su, it's turning into Emergency Ward bloody 10

The present series of Coronation Street has been crap since we decided to stop watching it several weeks (months?) ago.
We now watch Classic Coronation Street on ITV Hub, initially shown live in about 2002.  In those days they had far better (and far less woke) storylines.  Far more entertaining and even exciting to watch.  I'd strongly recommend it.

I'm only watching to see if Audrey's son pinches her money  Once that storyline is finished I'm off !

Good God!  Is that the most exciting story they can come up with?

I stopped watching it over ten years ago. No particular reason just had enough of it.

Michael Rolls

never willingly watched it - although as mum was a great fan I couldn't always avoid it.
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me
