Hosepipe ban

Torrential rain here this morning, the gutters were pouring out at the corners.
I've just had an email from the water company, my new monthly payment from September will be £42, up from £30.24.
I'm on a meter, but that seems a bit of a jump to me.

That seems a helluva a jump, Alex.
I would not be happy with that at all.

I take it you pay by direct debit?
I'm on a meter too,  but I won't have a d/d.    I thought that was the whole idea of meters,  so you get charged for what you use.

I do the same with Gas/Electric.  I pay for exactly what l use, (+ standing charges),  but  not a penny more.
