Tipping and Charity Donations

Tipping used to be a reward for good service .
Now it's seems to be added anyway to your bill if you eat out at the most ordinary of restaurants .
And if you pay by card you have the card machine in front of you held by the waiter / waitress asking if you want to add the tip .
I don't like this we will be like America where everyone puts their hand out for a tip no matter how churlish the service .
Now is another thing charity donations .
You are asked at the till if you want to give so much to a " charity " 
I beleive in charity giving and I donate via direct debit to several charities of my choice .
All of which are for children and animals .
So I don't feel any guilt in refusing to be  put on the spot at the till .
Thoughts ?

Quite simple I refuse unless it is coppers to round up. Like putting change in the charity box.

I don't like that when shops want to add donations to my bank card, either.
I always say No.
Like Muddy said,  I will donate to who I choose,  not let them choose.

  Neither do I like it when some shops don't want to give me a till receipt.  Instead they want your email address and say they will send a receipt.
I fell for this once at Dunelm and was continually pestered by adverts from them until I managed to put a stop to it.

We always tip for good service if out for dinner, and if out for lunch with my girlfriends. However if asked for a tip I say no, if they ask they don't get. I refuse to give anything to people pestering at shop doors.
I do tip my hairdresser well as she comes to the house and she makes a good job of cutting my long mane, also she makes a great job of putting Viking Plait styles into my hair if it's a special occasion. That's something I simply can't do myself, and I love them.

Even Mc Donalds do it !  after my six year old grandson has beaten me to tapping in the order, it comes us do I want to pay extra for charity !  I just round it up.

Only plaits I can do are either one or two at the side lol, sometimes I pin them over the top of my head, but that's the extent of my plaiting experiences.
As for my Inner Viking, trust me, she's on high alert at the moment.
