I saw this case on the news yesterday.

It looked as though his place was in a built up area though,  not out in the middle of a field,  so how on earth did he get away with this for so long when he was surrounded by neighbours? 
Those dogs must have barked and howled,  why did no one investigate?

All I can say is greedy, evil   Bas*ard.  He should have got a much longer sentence.

Years ago we reported dogs howling to the RSPCA and they investigated. Guy came round to sort us out. Big mistake. I was 6 1, 14 stone, Vernon 6 3 15 stone. He decided discretion better part of valour

My son has a rescue dog.  She was in a puppy farm but ended at a rescue centre after a caesarian.  Probably because they thought she might need more, and they're expensive.  Son and DIL have had her speyed (of course) and she has been treated by their vet, taken regularly to the groomers etc.   She wasn't housetrained either, but is almost 100% now, although she still has the odd accident. 

She was terrified of her shadow at first, but is a little more confident now, although still wary of men.  I've been at theirs this week, and she lets me stroke her and will sit beside me now, even though I'm not there often.  She's noticeably quieter than their other dog, who is a real fuss pot, and she really likes her grub, even eating the cat's if he leaves any.  It's a real joy to see the changes, she runs like the wind outside, we don't think she had an 'outside' before.   I'd like to see really stiff penalties where abuse is involved.

Bless her, puppy farming is such a cruel business and didn't exist when we were young.  At least I don't remember hearing about them.
