As I sit here in my DG AND a fleece hoodie the little temperature thinggy says it's 14 degrees in my kitchen, 12 degrees outside.  Anyway I've ordered an oil filled radiator this morning, it should come in the next couple of days.   Have you any tips on how to stay warm - apart from going back to bed

This may all be in my mind, but I've put orange coloured lights in the fireplace and it does seem warmer when I'm sitting watching telly, here they are......

The lights look lovely..

I have a fur electric throw..  A bit like something out of Doctor Zhivago..
It does the job a treat..

I believe Octopus were giving those away to certain pensioners the last couple of winters,  but not sure how it works.

When I sit down at this time of year, I often put a throw,  or a dogs blanket,  over my knees,  I often  find that warm and comforting.

This usually does for me.

I just make sure the central heating is performing up to scratch. If it struggled I'd go to bed. Can't expect to be in t shirt and shorts this time of year so something nice and warm helps.

My son recommended some Regatta walking trousers as being nice and warm as well as wind and waterproof (don't go there Dex). With us down to low single digits I've been wearing them when I go out. I haven't been changing out of them when I get back either. The swannacles may need keeping aerated in summer but they need cosy in winter. Last place a bloke wants frostbite.

We are keeping the heating on when it's cold. 🥶 OH has poor circulation, and I'm not keeping as busy as usual since surgery.  We also have warm throws and hoodie robes.  We're way ahead on our fuel bills, plus we've had his WFA payment of £100, nothing for moi yet.  It'll go straight to Octopus. 🐙
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖
