Or come to that any AI device you talk to or type into.

Blood test earlyish tomorrow so set my alarm which these days is a smart speaker. After doing it I thought  :wtf:

I'd just said Alexa set my alarm for 6:30 please

Then I thought why please?. If i use any of the AI programs such as chatgpt Gemini copilot etc. I often stick a please on if I've asked it to do something rather than just asked a question.

Is that just me? Do any of you use any of this stuff come to that?

As you can probably imagine Klondike - No.  I don't.  I am not a gadget person,  never have been.
I can't speak for all the other ladies of course,  but I  imagine alot of these  gadgets  are more of a 'man thing.'

I just set my old alarm clock,  which has a nice gentle light on the dial, so I can see the time in the dark if I need to,  and that's it.

May I ask - why do you prefer Alexa to a clock?

klondike

It's easier. Just tell it a time when I go to bed. Want to know the time if you wake say Alexa whats the time.

Some of the ladies here use them. Lots of things they could be used for but mostly I use mine as a doorbell I can hear upstairs and downstairs as I have 3 and occasional use as radio or alarm clock.

It was more the "please" that interested me.

I use Alexa for a wake up call and of course I use please and thank you when talking to her.  My Alexa has an Aussie accent so she gets the odd G'day from me too    I  know...........  🧚

Vlad

I use Alexa only to remind us when to take our medication

Marge does that.  She tells her smart phone to wake her (or us) at a particular time.
I haven't bothered to work out how to do that, yet.
I suppose that when she leaves me, I'll have to figure it out for myself.
