Yes.  Monty Python, Blackadder: two examples of recent British comedy.  We have been particularly good, as a country, at such humour.
I'm not sure, though, that Americans and some other countries might not understand such typically British humour.

Did you know that back in the day Cowboys would put a lantern on their saddles at night so that they could find the trail when they were far from home. This was early saddle light navigation
