Why do parents allow it.. !!  Could it be that they too are on their phones.. !!

The art of conversation at a meal table is dying..
If a mobile phone rings at my table the person usually apologizes and quickly glances at the message should it be important.. If they have to be excused , that is fine. They leave the room for a moment..

Also what I heard this week is that children as young as eight are buying cosmetics for their face that could be harmful for younger skin..
EIGHT !!!!  Who on earth is paying for it..?  The mind boggles...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I agree,  it's all wrong.
But as you say  who is encouraging it by paying for it?

My girlfriends and I have a phone rule when we all meet up for lunch. All phones go in the middle of the table, first one who reaches for theirs pays for everyone's lunch. I leave mine in the car, no way am I paying for us all, far too expensive. It's my grandaughter who annoys me with her phone, she seems terrified to put it down incase she misses something. I told her a few days ago I wouldn't take her for lunch unless she left her phone in the car with mine. She thought I was kidding untill I refused to get out of the car, it was a lesson she didn't like.  :busted:

I put it down to my good fortune in being particularly handsome.  It seems to frighten potential girlfriends away.  Or perhaps it's Marge who does that?
