Do you use an electric razor? I use a Braun series three. The instructions laughingly suggest changing the head after 18 months - I have to change it after about every 2-3 months. OK it only costs £7 - 8, but I can feel it losing sharpness after no more than 4-5 weeks, I don't know if my beard is particularly tough, but after the first 4 or 5 weeks i have to shave twice a day to avoid looking too shaggy. Wet shaving isn't an option - many days my balance and legs can't cope with standing for the length of time required.
If you do use an electric razor, what is it and would you recommend it?
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Marge has the good fortune not to have hairs on her legs.  I suppose that is good fortune for me as well.
She does, however, have hairs on her head, and in one other specific place.

Wet shaves produce the best results but take a long time and often irritated my skin so that didn't last long. I found that replacing the heads was almost as expensive as buying a new razor and they didn't last all that long. I tried various foils and rotary heads and all were pretty similar.

Eventually I gave up and now have a beard that I don't let get too long. I keep that under control with a beard trimmer (smaller version of hair cutters) and a Philips One Blade which gets use for the bits which I keep relatively hair free.

Just having the beard was irritating at first and I nearly went back to clean shaven but idleness won out and I persisted. Now I don't even notice it at all.
