I do hope those on here who live further north keep safe..
I know it's not much consolation but I am here to listen to any problems that may arise..
I am open to all topics...  Except..
Cookery... Crochet and how to change the duvet cover..

Hardly enough wind to blow out a candle where I am in North Lincolnshire.

Excellent.  I was thinking about making a cake and icing it so it looks like it's covered with a duvet.  Ideally, I'd like to crochet a pattern into it using candy shoelaces.  Please can you offer any tips?

Awful gale here this morning, I don't feel like going out even though I ran out of milk yesterday.

So far, we have a big tree down narrowly missing a greenhouse but taking most of the villages phone wires with it. BT are going to be chuffed.
This huge fir tree should have been topped a few years back but it never was, I bet BT will land them with a bill.

Yes, I believe you are right, Raven.
If  any damage is caused by our own neglected trees, its our fault,  and we have to pay.

Whose responsibility is the tree maintenance?

Raven

The person who's garden it's in I would think. This tree is very tall and after the last bad storm, (the one that did for my fences) it was left leaning at an angle. Everyone said it should have been fixed......But Nope. :nooo:

Depends on whether the storm was severe enough for the tree falling to be called an act of god.  No idea who's liable in that case🤷🏻♂️

I remember some time back,  when my neighbour's tree was swaying about in the wind,  and touching the telegraph wires.   The phone engineers told me then that if it brought the cables down, he would be responsible and have to pay.

It never happened though, because one day a drugged-up, and drunken driver came off the road, smashed into the tree and it crashed down right across my driveway.  I couldn't get in or out till it was cleared.
