Just seen some of us might get a power cut tonight for 3 hours!

Have a look at this:

We get them up here sometimes, the terrific winds coming in off the Atlantic can bring down the power lines. At least your getting a warning so you can prepare.

It doesn't surprise me, bearing in mind that our glorious leaders are intent on relying on windmills and solar panels.  Not the best idea in winter when we need even more electricity.

Fortunately, we have a gas fire and a log burner.
On the other hand, we won't be able to watch Classic Coronation Street!

Hopefully, and soon, everyone in the UK will have a smart meter so that the Starmer can direct energy companies to target the old and infirm directly by turning off specific peoples' power.

I'll never have a smart meter.  Far too easy to impose cut-offs in the way you describe.

Really?

Thank you for the days, the days you gave me
