Very true.  To have at least two members of the Royal Family behaving like they are must be unprecedented, at least in modern times.

I also read this morning that Charles is considering stepping down, probably because his cancer is still being treated.  I can, of course, understand that decision and it occurs to me that perhaps his treatment is not working well.

I'm also sure that the behaviour of those two mentioned earlier cannot be helping him through his difficulties.

The Queen hung on til the very end and unless he's bedridden I'm pretty sure that she would have expected him to as well. I'm not fussed either way and having somebody younger doing the Kinging may have advantages I suppose.

Yes I agree, JBR.   If there is any truth in Charles stepping down,  I don't blame him at all.

I am sure many of us might also feel like giving up work if we were having cancer treatment at his age, too.

Oh, you shouldn't have to feel that way, however you feel about the subject.  I'm sure we are all entitled to our opinions and, other than perhaps making a joke, I would never criticise anyone for their opinions.

There'll be a few people sleeping in shop doorways this Christmas who'll wish that being excluded from a family lunch was their only problem.

Being a member of Republic I regard the whole lot of the Royals as a waste-of-space.

And no, we don't have to replace a Monarch with a President as we already have a PM.
