When Syria was on the news I thought how dreadful it was that Assad imprisoned people for just saying things he didn't like & then I thought about those people who were imprisoned for just saying things about the Southport murders that Starmer didn't like.

Yes, I'm well aware that the punishments weren't on the same scale but I'm pointing out the similarity of the principle of the action taken.

The common factor being an authoritarian dictator although ours is, for now, just a trainee.

I agree.  Two-tier Kier, the would-be dictator.
Unlike most dictators, though, he has the distinction that he really doesn't have a clue what to do next.

He'll deposed by his own party. The only unknown is when but I can't see him lasting much beyond the May council elections even if he succeeds in getting some postponed.

Assuming Starmer gets the boot from his own party then I would welcome Ange taking on the job. It should complete the job of destroying the Labour party so ably started by the man. So long as she is insufficiently talented to achieve Labour's apparent aim of destroying the country before the whole lot get turfed out (possibly with lamp posts being involved the way things are going).

Ange??? Ange???? You mean .... Ange??  Are you nuts?

I'd like evidence that any PM we have has read an entire book beyond a ladybird picture one.

Indeed. We should all tremble before such intellectual giants of the Abbot school of thinking.
