My family are all Liverpool supporters so no time for the ex manc Beckham, but he has done so much for charity it's a shame that 'Mr Never Won Anything' Gareth Southgate was recognised and not David Beckham.

I think his was for services to the kneepad industry

ChatGpt...

Keir Starmer received his knighthood in 2014 for his services to law and criminal justice. He was knighted as a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB) in the New Year Honours list.

Starmer earned this recognition primarily for his role as Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) from 2008 to 2013. During his tenure, he oversaw significant reforms, handled high-profile cases, and advocated for victims' rights, particularly around violence against women and girls. His contributions to the legal system and public service were seen as highly impactful, leading to his knighthood.

Yes Mike I knew he was one already, I just wondered what he'd done to deserve it.
Thankyou Klondike, I was too tired to go googling at that time of the night/morning.
