Ah, is that what it means?  I thought it was when we were all supposed to go out and destroy anything depicting anyone involved with the slave trade, and then organise a fun run and other fund raising activities as part of reparation payments.

Well, I suppose that would impact on most of the Third World!
Yes, we too took part in slave trading, but on the other hand we were the first to stop it.

Just in passing, I have ordered a new mobile phone on a BLACK FRIDAY deal, and it's BLACK!
(Well, nearly.  It's navy blue.)
My old one isn't holding its charge any more.

Oddly enough I bought a new mobile too. It was over the Amazon Black Friday week  but wasn't marked up as a Black Friday deal.

The phone is navy blue but the case I bought is black and was a Black Friday deal....  The navy blue case I bought was the one I was moaning about in things that pee you off which I sent back.

Are new batteries for mobiles expensive, I wonder?
Or sometimes I know the charger itself can be faulty.
Still,  too late now if you've got a new one coming.

Do you know how to transfer everything from your old phone over,  or do you take it to a shop?
A friend of mine did my last transfer job for me, 'cos  I haven't got a clue.

There's a phone clone app now. I used it last time I needed to switch. Some phones have the app included.

What on earth's one of those, Raven?  :hmm:

Phone Clone lets you quickly and seamlessly move all the basic data (including contacts, calendar, images, and videos) from your old phone to your new phone, or tablet.
You turn on the Bluetooth of both devices and click start.
Only took a few minutes on mine, new phone because identical to the old phone.

Well I think you're very clever.
I wouldn't know where to begin.

I used Google to find out this time.

It just involved putting a USB cable in each phone which handily came with the phone (but no charger so I bought one as the correct one is faster than the old one I have) and running the app. It was very fast and copied almost everything - I did have to redo the fingerprints for apps where I was using them and phone the bank to reauthorise their card for contactless phone payments.

Batteries in phones are not user replaceable these days. Usually if the battery capacity is really low the phone is probably pretty much obsolete and not worth spending the likely money on.

Oh and I used chatgpt app which the new phone came with to make me a new avatar. It's making me wait an age before it will make more after I played around with it a bit. Unless I cared to pay a pretty big monthly sub. I didn't.

Oh well,  shows how much I know.

Probably not, but I wouldn't want to replace my battery as I'm not sure what to do and I'm likely to cock it up.
I don't use a charger; just plug in a USB cable to charge it up.
