Massive spiders the size of a human hand have had a record breeding year in the UK after a zoo released them into the wild.

Chester Zoo bred the fen raft spiders before setting thousands free ten years ago in an effort to save the species, which was close to extinction in this country.

The zoo has now revealed there are more than 10,000 breeding females across the UK – an all time high.

Why would they do this ?  nobody asked me if I minded.  I live not too far from Chester Zoo. :yell:

Living in a rural area we get a lot of spiders, especially on the outside of the conservatory.

One very small spider has made it's home inside the keyhole of one of the conservatory doors but fortunately for the spider it's the door that doesn't have to be opened so it's quite safe.

Well until I tease it by blowing on it & it hides.

Another spider liked to crawl over one of the CCTV cameras & it must have got fed up with having to repair it's web every day after a night of me listening to "Motion detected at the front door camera" & has relocated somewhere.
Make every day count, each day is precious.

Scrumpy

A large spider crawled across my living room the other evening..
They do not bother me and i would never purposely kill one..
I have torn a web down to rescue a trapped butterfly.. It was so happy..
It rested in my palm for a moment then flew away..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
