So the astrologers say anyway.

"The third of September was a remarkable day to the English Attila, Oliver Cromwell. In 1650 he then obtained a memorable vistory over the Scots at Dunbar, and another at Worcester on that day in 1651. And on that day he died in 1658."
John Aubrey 1695

Cromwell's death was prededed by the worst storm of the seventeenth century:

'Tossed in a furious hurricane
did Cromwell give up his reign.'

On September 3rd, 1666, the great fire of London was at it's height, and on the same day in 1675, Northampton was 'near burnt down to the ground.'

The fire of London must have been a sight to see..
Houses were built close together .. mainly timber..
It did, however destroy rat infested areas.. The people fought the fire with leather buckets filled with water..  No affect whatsoever..

I was not aware of the Northampton fire...
1829 was the first steam fire engine... Many years later..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

God knows poor England needs such a cathartic influence as leader today, the country is in ruin, struck down by a cabal of despots ...
