He has just announced on GB News (probably no other channel would invite him!) that he will stand in the general election.  He intends to stand in Clacton-on-sea.

I really hope that he will gain enough votes to have him elected.  Even if on his own (which I doubt) he will be a voice in the Commons which everyone will listen to.

I wish him good luck. I suspect he got fed up with being called chicken while his reasoning to try to campaign nationally rather than fight one seat seemed sensible to me.

Good news, but I wonder why Clacton ?

Don't know why the media is giving him down the banks, he's changed his mind - is that not allowed ?

The media are tribally either Conservative or Labour.

Clacton has been mentioned before as a seat that could be winnable by Reform. Whether or not it is I don't know but I bet there are some political arses twitching at this announcement. Got to be worth a few polling point nationally for Reform I think.

I sincerely hope so.
I have suspected that when Nigel announced that he would NOT stand for parliament, Reform may have lost some of their more light-weight supporters.  That possibility will now, hopefully, fall apart.

Even, if the worst happened, and he was not elected for Clacton, he has made the effort and the promise.
However, even if he is the only Reform contender to be elected, he will still have a voice in Parliament.  They cannot prevent that.  In that position, he will still be in the public eye and I'm sure that his voice will be heard as will his criticisms of any decisions made by the (assumed) Labour government.  He will certainly give them a rought ride.

Normally a party with one MP would be entirely ignored - what have you seen from the Green MP - can you even name the Green MP without Google. BUT this is Nigel Farage and his speeches would be in the news for shure. Just like Marmite everybody has heard of him and everybody has an opinion on him.

Caroline Lucas, I do know without checking.  I agree about Nigel though, I think the tide is turning...
