Free speech.
Yes, controlling the freedom to speak our minds is simply an effective means of controlling what we say and, ultimately, what we think.  It is a step in the direction of controlling us completely, as in that excellent novel '1984'.
Orwell got it completely right, though his timing was a little off by about forty years.

Thankfully, this forum believes in free speech.  Certainly more so that some others.
