An article in the Telegraph today.  A couple were expecting a new credit card and PIN to be delivered, but had not received them before setting off on holiday.

When they got back, they discovered that their bank balance of £1,250 was now zero.  Apparently 'someone' had stolen their cards and had been withdrawing money from cash points.

The bank (Nat West, of course) accused them of trying to claim money which they had spent themselves.
Royal Mail also denied any responsibilitiy.
The police (who are they?) refused to examine camera recordings from cash points are there are too many.

Eventually, following the report being published in the Telegraph, Royal Mail refunded them all the money plus £100 for their 'mistake'.

My question: why on earth send cards and PINs together?  How stupid.
