That's a busy main road with schools and shops nearby. Looking at the job it's actually a bit of a mess. Quite a few short sections which even show in the short section in the pic. Must have been some reason but why wasn't the wall re-pointed? Cost I suppose.

Are those panels timber or some man made material?

They are metal of some sort painted or coated. I hope they weather.
I'll pop a magnet in my pocket then if I remember I can check if they are steel or aluminium.

Bugger.  Just been out in the garden and seen two clocks that need changing, one of which requiring a ladder🤬

Don't look at it.... Eventually the battery will pack up. Then it will be spot on twice a day.
