Let's see if Sunak's claim from Monday that his policy (unspecified and don't ask me what it might be) is defeating the dinghy boys.

I rather suspect it won't be,

Here is the official count site - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats-last-7-days

Oh look it seems we had a couple of boats arrive yesterday.

Raven

Just wondering, as I wasn't around then BUT.....Didn't we used to have big guns lining the shores during the war, put there to welcome invaders? We could always put them back.

What a splendid idea...
Mr Mainwaring could be there with his boys ..
Pike ( if his mum lets him out) could throw a few hand grenades.. Jonesy.. fixed bayonets ... Wilson..Godfrey (If Dolly reminds him)...
They are a force to be reckoned with..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

When Sunak spouted out his spurious statistics last week, (when the wind was blowing the other way), Sgt Wilson would have been stood behind him saying quietly,

"Do you think thats wise sir?"

This idiotic little man needs a 'Barge' a week at least, probably two in this weather just to keep up with new arrivals - Cretin that he is!

Maybe the RNLI boats could play the theme music to Jaws from their loud hailers to liven it up.
The problem with being retired is that you never get a day off

Wave machine idea was kicked into touch wasn't it?  now that might work  :yay:

I've got a 1930's home doctor book that defines Cretinism as "a peculiar form of idiocy".

We did indeed and I am sure we would have used them if the Germans had invaded, I see no difference these people are uninvited invaders and should be treated as the enemy that they are.

Just spent the afternoon at a protest in Llanelli where they are taking over over the Strady Hotel to house 300 of these scum, cancelling weddings, making the staff redundant like they do. Apparently rooms can cost £250 in the summer months, Llanelli needs tourists not illegals. Met some really nice local people concerned for their community.

We had a chain of fortresses called Martello Towers, built as a defence against the French under Napoleon, and some of them are still there.

I recall one that because of the changing coastline was a mile or more from the sea. Don't remember where. Probably no good for repelling invaders but could be used for housing them with a couple of tarps lashed over the top.

Raven

They would be better off being housed in France.

We'd be a lot better off for sure if they weren't housed here.

France, bottom of the channel or anywhere. The only location that I do care about is here.
