Having stayed up to watch the football .i decided to walk my dog out early to avoid the heat and was rewarded by seeing a fox ( in a field full of sheep who completely ignored it )
Here in the country we don't see many foxes , it's my first this year . Where my son lives in a town there are foxes all over the place .

Didnt the country gentry hunt them almost into extinction so they moved into the city where people keep Rottweilers and not hounds?

In the village we used to hear them out on the road in the middle of the night calling. Unearthly racket. That was usually January time irrc  which I'm guessing is when they breed.

My CCTV has reliable animal detection so I set it up to take clips and every so often I go through a few of the overnight ones hoping to see one but so far it's only dog walkers. I have seen them trotting about in fields occasionally.

Men don't get smarter as we age.  We just run out of stupid stuff to do.

I want to get one of those cameras that you attach to trees to see if there is any wild life in my garden ( other than the flock of rooks etc that wait for their breakfast every morning on my roof )

However when I go online there is too much choice .
They all look the same like a camouflaged box but have different specifications none of which I understand .
Just want something simple to set up .

since we moved up here I've scarcely sn a fox - saw a black on a few years ago - whereas in Surbiton it was a rare journey to work - 56 miles each way - that I wouldn't see several dead ones in the road
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

We often get a fox in our garden, though I have only seen them overnight on my security cameras.  Fortunately, our back garden is surrounded by other properties' gardens, all away from busy roads, so the fox(es?) are quite safe.
We do have two cats which go out at night, which I think is quite natural.  There are some occasional instances when the two (cat and fox) meet and, as foxes are generally bigger than cats, I used to worry about our cats.  However, fortunately the foxes are not in the habit of facing off against our cats and, again fortunately, our cats don't seem interested in the foxes which always seem to slope off.
