Having stayed up to watch the football .i decided to walk my dog out early to avoid the heat and was rewarded by seeing a fox ( in a field full of sheep who completely ignored it )
Here in the country we don't see many foxes , it's my first this year . Where my son lives in a town there are foxes all over the place .

I have a cheeky one that sits in my front garden just in front of the car.. He doesn't even budge when I walk pass him.. Sometimes he sunbathes on the shed..

Didnt the country gentry hunt them almost into extinction so they moved into the city where people keep Rottweilers and not hounds?

In the village we used to hear them out on the road in the middle of the night calling. Unearthly racket. That was usually January time irrc  which I'm guessing is when they breed.

My CCTV has reliable animal detection so I set it up to take clips and every so often I go through a few of the overnight ones hoping to see one but so far it's only dog walkers. I have seen them trotting about in fields occasionally.
