Time flies.  I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when it was announced on the radio...playing whist in the upstairs flat of my second cousin's house in Penmaenmawr.

I too remember where I was when Elvis died.  I was working in the Army Pay Office, HQ BAOR
That was a great job, all soldiers and just two of us ' girls'  The other girl, became my friend and we still are in touch weekly.   She came in to work sobbing with red eyes, tissues in hand, all because Elvis had died.

So hard to believe it was 48 years ago !!!!!!
