How much water are you drinking in this heatwave?

It always annoys me when 'experts'  say so-many glasses,  but never say what size glass they are talking about.
They say 4-6 glasses,  or 6-8 glasses or whatever,  but how much  is that?  What are they talking about?  Why don't they just say 1 pt,  2pts,  4 pts etc so we'd know what they mean?
Mind you,  they don't even talk in pints anymore, do they,  its all in foreign measurements.

Which leads me to ask the men here a question.
When you go for a pint now,  can you still say -  "Pint of bitter, please Mabel?"  Does your local still even have 1 pt glasses,  or did they have to go metric too?

(You can tell I don't get out much)!

Still sold in pints. At least it was last time I had one.

I just ask for a small bitter shandy.. I never hear anyone at the table talk in pints anymore..

As for how much water to drink in this heat.. I just drink a glassful if and and when I am near the tap.. and I think about it.. I don't keep water in the fridge or buy bottled water.. Unless I am out..
I think some elderly people forget to drink enough water..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Oddly the sense of thirst doesn't seem so acute as it does in the young. I keep cans of fizzy pop in the fridge. Just about the only time they get drunk is if a grandchild raids the fridge. This weather that is whenever one calls.

This is quite interesting.

It's NHS advice about staying hydrated, and what happens if we don't.

I don't like tap water so I do keep bottled water in the fridge.  Lately I've been drinking soda water with a splash of juice in it, it's very refreshing.

We have natural springs around here.. That's what Sam used to say.. Our water is fine..

A bit like Del-boys water he found on the allotment..

I drink a lot of liquids in the heat your body will tell you .
If you feel thirsty you need water .

I buy packs of bottles, keep a few in the fridge, nearly always take onexwith me when I go out.   I quite like some flavoured spring water drinks (sugar free of course these days ☺️) Rubicon do a nice raspberry and cherry one.   With lots of ice!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

What bothers me a bit about bottled water is I found out some time ago that if it gets sun on it -   like when people leave it in their car, or cyclists have it strapped to their bike frames etc  -  the plastic can leech nasty chemicals into the drinking water.

I don't know if this is true,  or what the risks might be,  but it puts me off enough not to use it.
