Oh Gawd,  now the scientists have declared Bacon dangerous!  It contains Nitrates.

"Nitrates and nitrites are preservatives that are routinely added to bacon to increase its shelf life, add flavour and enhance its pink-like hue.

These compounds undergo a chemical reaction with the protein in bacon to form toxic chemicals called nitrosamines, which have been linked to bowel and other forms of cancer. As a result, bacon has been classified as carcinogenic by the International Agency for Research on Cancer."

No more bacon butties now?

That will put the little caffs out of business...

I reckon the majority of people don't know what they are eating half the time.

Does you remember the Horse meat scandal back in 2013?

This meat was found in Burgers, ready made Bolognaise, and Lasagnes instead of Beef.
Tesco, Aldi and Findus were unknowingly selling these products,  I think coming from France?

IIRC, Ikea meatballs were discovered to contain gee gee meat too.

Alex

I'd hate to miss out on my Sunday morning bacon & egg brekkie !

I'll be risking a bacon sarnie later....

Goes to show - no publicity is bad publicity.

Really!  I liked those.  Not been to Ikea for ages.

I'll just stick to caff type bacon butties 🥪 then.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

They've long since changed them to avoid including dobbins.

Look up James Martin's recipe.
