Hoorah!   At long last!

The government is ordering an urgent enquiry into these dazzling headlights on cars nowadays.
About time too.

216 people were killed in 12 months purely because they were completely dazzled by these oncoming lights.
On the newest cars, the lights are 'automatic'  instead of being controlled by the driver,  which wouldn't help at all to my mind.

We'll see what/if happens in due course,  but my fingers are firmly crossed and I live in hope.

I suspect it isn't the factory fitted lights that cause problems. It will be overpowered and incorrectly fitted after market lighting to blame.

I don't know Klondike.    All I know is I haven't met one single person who likes them.
They really hurt my eyes, and make my lights look no brighter than a couple of candles.

they are the main reason why I no longer drive at night
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

I still drive in the dark, I have to BUT, they are the reason I stopped driving the 235 miles between Thurso and Perth overnight, unless I really have to.

Yes,  I think many of us feel the same, Michael.

Even in towns where headlights are not really an issue it now seems a lot more taxing driving at night than in the daytime so I avoid it whenever possible. I think it must be an age thing.
