I doubt 40 years from now,  many people will be able to name as many good and memorable film stars from today,  as we can from 40 years ago.

Lion Queen

Edward G Robinson, James Cagney, sidney Poitier, James Mason, Anthony Quinn, oh the list is endless,  actors in those days were outstanding.  One of my all time favourite actors is Anthony Hopkins, he is not only a brilliant actor but also an accomplished pianist, a poet, an artist, no end of talents to this man.  He is full of fun and has a brilliant sense if humour too, in fact I think he's quite eccentric. I love to follow his social media to see what he's up to. Great all round bloke with the added bonus of good looks, well I think so anyway. Yep Anthony is one of my all time idols.

As for today's actors, I don't know too many of their names but two I can name who stand out to me are Stephen Graham and James Norton.

I agree about James Norton being a good modern day actor..

I liked Charles Bronson, especially in the Death Wish films.

That series, mainly directed by the one and only 'Michael Winner' was based upon an 'unknown' but definitely 'Ex Military' vigilante based in New York in the sixties. It was suspected the perpertator of up to 47 revenge 'terminations' was a master sniper and explosives specialist. Never caught, the police in fact were strongly suspected of 'protecting' his identity, as crime figures shrunk by up to 85% in some areas during his 3 year run. One of my now late relatives was a Detective lieutenant in the NPD at the time and swore the validity of this story to me on his death bed in 2018. He admitted covering his escape once when the man had been injured. He was equally convinced those 'on high' coerced this man and offered him the ability to 'fade away' when the killings became associated to one assassin and the pressure rose to find him! Very like the 'Death Wish' film story.
