I read today how a lady pensioner was scammed out of money.
We hear all the time about these con men on dating sites scamming women,  but this one was different.

This fraudster contacted her through Tinder.  He sent her videos portraying himself as a widowed US Army officer,  told her how much he loved her etc.

Later on he persuaded her to send him £20,000 so that he could post her a briefcase containing £607.000 from his dead wife's life insurance.

The case arrived  -  empty!

Turned out this man never  even existed.   'He'  was a AI generated Robot!!

The fraud help people said it was one of the most elaborate scams it had ever seen.

I have never heard anything like that before,  and find it  quite scary how technology can be used. nowadays.

It doesn't need technology. All it takes is a con artist and a gullible victim.

I must be tight as a submarine door then, because there's no way I'd send £20,000 to a man Id never met.

Me neither, not even a tenner!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I won't bother asking then.

But I'm amazed that there are still people who don't know about this & all the other scams.

Yes the sort of scam most people have already been warned about,  but it just shocked me because I would never have dreamed a robot could be used for that sort of thing.
Just shows how very real these things can look and sound.

I wouldn't part with my money..
I would hope that I would never get 'sucked in' by a scam..
I often get US Army Officers wanting to be my friend on Facebook.. They even have photo's ..
Always a white guy..  Apparently they use profiles of others..

Poor women..  But stupid..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

That's exactly what the pensioner got,  an ex-army officer.    It's a robot.

Perhaps it was the Million Dollar Man?
