I have just sent my drivers  license   (cut up) back to the DVL..
I had to buy a book of 4 postage stamps.. 6.60..
No wonder the Royal Mail is going down the pan..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Why send it back?  I received a new one, and just kept my old one (I suppose because I don't like throwing things away).

They sent me a form to sign and I had to send my DL  (cut up) in the return envelope..
This had to be done 21 days from when I applied online otherwise they would not process it..

Maybe there are new rules JB, I kept my old licence too.

Not sure I should admit it but... I forget.

GrannyMac

We had to send ours back too.  😐
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Ah!  Now I understand.  It's quite simple.
They trust me.

I was just surprised by the cost of a 1st Class stamp..

Yes, I had to do the same last year when I renewed mine but it coincided with me having to get a new photo so I had to renew by post & not online.

Why do they want it back? It's got a plain to see expiry date so if you have to show it to the police.

It has been a rule for years.. Not everyone sends theirs back though..

Certainly I doubt many use a first class stamp if they do. I can recall having to send a licence back in the past but not sure I did on the last renewal.

Same here, Scrumpy.

I sent it first class because Royal Mail are not on the ball..
I would have sent it recorded delivery had I been near a post office..
That is how I feel about having a drivers  license ..

Should have used a post office - at least you'd have a proof of posting. That said I bet they don't even check. They probably all get sent to somebody working from home who puts them in the recycling.
